Show signup errors inline instead of alert()
The signup form shows errors in a browser alert(). Show each error under its field and give feedback while the request is running.

Acceptance criteria
- Each field error from the API appears under that field in public/index.html
- Invalid fields get aria-invalid="true" and the message is linked with aria-describedby
- The submit button is disabled and reads "Creating…" while the request runs
- Errors from a previous attempt are cleared on the next submit
- No alert() calls remain; the PR includes before/after screenshots
